Apprentice Office Administrator


W Crowder and Sons Ltd are looking to recruit a valued team member to join our small, but pressurised office. You will need to be an excellent communicator, courteous with clients and always act in a professional manner.

Primary duties will include the following

                                             : Operating our in house computer system

                                             : Processing Sales orders

                                             : Liaise with customers on a daily basis

                                             : Answering the telephone and transferring the calls

                                             : Be responsible for customer collections, taking payments and general administrative duties.

                                : An interest in horticulture and/or plant science is preferred but not essential.

                                : Ability to follow and comply with a QMS System in line with ISO standards

Location: Horncastle

Salary: Competitive rates of pay- in excess of the Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage

Weekly Hours:  Full time position approx. 39 hrs. per week. Monday - Friday

Qualifications: You must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English Grade C or above. Good all-round knowledge of Microsoft packages is strongly required. Time management, task prioritisation and organisational skills are essential as well as being able to work under pressure and on your own.

Training: Full on-the-job training and support will be provided to enable the successful applicant to undertake the full range of duties required of the role.

In addition, training will also be provided towards the BTEC Level 2 and 3 in Horticulture through in-house delivery and off-site training in a college environment.

Sales Development Representative


Due to continued growth W Crowder and Sons are looking to recruit an experienced full-time Sales Development Representative to join our small, yet pressurised commercial team. This important role needs the Representative to focus on customer service and work closely with Landscapers, Contractors and designers. The Sales Development Representative will have to build strong relationships and increase opportunities with existing customers and source and develop relationships with new customers, through regular contact including personal visits. This will also include attending corporate events on behalf of the Company. You will be actively involved in estimating and negotiating with customers to secure orders for the Company, whilst maximising gross margins. You will also assist in the day to day operation of the wholesale nursery sales office, dealing efficiently with customer enquiries, and liaising with nursery and despatch staff, haulage contractors and suppliers to ensure a smooth-running operation, focusing on customer satisfaction.
