Lincoln Cathedral is one of the largest medieval buildings in Western Europe, an impressive example of Gothic architecture as its origins date back to the 13th Century.

From 2019 to 2020 Crowders Nurseries were part of an exciting project at the Cathedral – the ‘Connect Project.’ After completion it is expected to attract an additional 125,000 visitors to the Cathedral and its new visitors’ centre. Lincoln Cathedral Connect aims to ‘radically improve the Cathedral’s setting and visitor experience – offering more engaging and dynamic spaces for a wider number of visitors to enjoy.’

The landscaping of the project was managed by Dobsons, a Lincoln based landscape company, who aimed to transform the outside space surrounding Lincoln Cathedral and the new visitors’ centre.

Crowders supplied all plants and hedging, including Taxus hedging which was used as a key feature.

This was a fantastic project for Crowders to be a part of, helping to showcase the premium stock we provide. Additionally, being part of a project that saw a fantastic transformation was an exciting element for our team.
