HS2 CEO visits Crowders – Mark Thurston came for a nursery visit to inspect forestry stock in July 2019. Mark visited the nursery to see some of the saplings that will soon be planted along the HS2 Phase One route being grown. Crowders were contracted in 2016 to supply over 7 million trees for the HS2 Green Corridor project that will create 650 ha of new woodland, reducing the visual impact of the new rail line and creating new wildlife habitats. Native field grown trees are grown at Crowders’ Lincolnshire site and will be supplied to the HS2 scheme over a 10 year period that started in 2017.
