Trying new things can be a scary experience. However, it can also be one of the most rewarding experiences. All too often we let the fear stop us. But getting ourselves out of our comfort zone is so important. Trying new things not only helps us to overcome those fears, but it lets us develop our mind and learn about ourselves.

We are not saying you need to jump out of a plane, but you can start with changing or trying smaller things. For example, your exercise routine, simply freezing your gym membership and taking your walk outside. Dr. Jordan Metzl, a sports medicine physician at New York’s Hospital, said to Wall Street Journal: “Trying something new that shakes up your routine can really give you a fresh perspective and get you excited.”

There are a lot of benefits to trying something new, every time you put yourself in a new situation, you force your brain to quickly understand a distinctive set of situations, process how to handle those situations and develop a new set of skills from the experiences.

The possibilities to try something new is endless, and whether it’s a big or small leap outside your comfort zone you’ll still reap the benefits. Join a group, go on a solo adventure, meet new people, learn a new skill and broaden your horizons.
